Iron Fitting
The design of your iron head must suit your needs.
The design of an Iron head is crucial, it must suit the players swing. The wrong type can cause you to hit fat shots, or thin shots, hook the ball, or slice the ball.
During the fitting we will ask you to complete a questionnaire so we can establish important details about your current and proposed golf game. It’s important we know the type of courses you play, are you having lessons or working on swing changes. Whilst you complete the questionnaire we will examine your current irons, taking several measurements from them; including their length, flex, swing weight, loft and lie and grip sizing.
You will hit shots out on the driving range and in-door on our EDH Kudo Launch monitor.
The length of your irons must be correct.
During the in-door launch monitor fitting we will discuss your ‘smash factor’, this is the ratio between your club speed and your ball speed. By maximising your ‘smash factor’ we can find you more distance. A well centred hit on the iron face is one way to increase your smash factor, if your clubs are the wrong length you will not be hitting the centre as you should.
Shaft Weight, Flex and Grip size affect your accuracy and distance
Many golfers play with ‘standard’ size clubs, yet we all differ in our height, strength, posture and swing. Consider this: when you sit in a new car for the 1st time, do you adjust the seat position, the wing mirrors, the rear view mirror, maybe the steering wheel – all to suit you? You don’t expect one ‘standard’ position to fit all – So why accept the one size fits all approach with your golf clubs.
