The Driving Range
|
The newly designed practice facilities at Clays have been purpose built to fulfil all golfing desires, in a fresh, fun and friendly environment.
The facilities include a 20 bay driving range, fully floodlit and carpeted with 10 bay heaters creating a warm winter venue, allowing a year-round golfing experience and an idealistic winter escape from the cold Welsh winter nights.
The range boasts technologically advanced PowerTee mats, which enable our clients to exert minimum effort and provide a truly relaxing practice session, preparing them for the next visit to the golf course. This technology allows you to improve your technique by providing a much faster and efficient method of golf ball replenishment with no re-teeing movement between shots. The PowerTees also incorporate approximately 40 pre-set tee heights allowing them to cater for golfers of all abilities, which can be easily demonstrated by any of our friendly team in the pro shop.
The outfield has 2 specifically designed and constructed target greens which allow emphasis on the important ‘scoring distances’ via the individual bay legends.
At over 250 yards in length the range presents an extensive landing zone for even the more accomplished of us golfers and the fairway-like grass supplies superb response to our clients with realistic pitch and roll, this is easily achieved as Clays is one of few destinations that utilizes Callaway range balls throughout the facility offering the optimum results, whether you are a beginner, a keen amateur, an international player or even a professional. Our distant target poles also provide a stern challenge, even for the seriously long hitters amongst us, and we encourage all golfers to come down and see if you can pass the posts!!
The project has been continually supported and endorsed by the Golf Union of Wales and is one of only 4 Centre’s of Excellence, and must be seen to be believed!!
