18 Hole Championship Course
The 18 championship holes at Clays measures just over 6000 yards, its sloping fairways and undulating greens make Clays an inviting challenge to golfers of all abilities.
Hole 1 - Par 4, 437 Yards, S.I. 3
A challenging opening hole, one of the longest par 4's on the course. With the fairway sloping from right to left, plenty of room to hit the fairway. A good drive will leave the average hitter a long iron or a short fairway wood into the green.
Hole 2 - Par 3, 176 Yards, S.I. 12
After a challenging opening hole, a short par three to follow can get your round off to start you need. With a bunker short of the green a good tee shot is needed to secure yourself a par.
Hole 3 - Par 4, 356 Yards, S.I. 5
A long dog leg hole, with the fairway surrounded with two perfectly placed bunkers, a straight drive is needed to hit this fairway. One of the most tricky greens on the course, your par is never safe.
Hole 4 - Par 4, 373 Yards, S.I. 9
The tee shot here can give you risk with reward, taking the dog leg on leaves you a mid iron into the green. With bunkers surrounding the left hand side of the green your second shot requires a lot of attention.
Hole 5 - Par 3, 138 Yards, S.I.18
The feature hole of the golf course. This short par 3 is surrounded with four pot bunkers into the bank of the green, miss the green left and right and your chance of a birdie has slipped away.
Hole 6 - Par 4, 310 Yards, S.I. 11
A short par 4, a hole to boost your scoring going, a long iron off the tee can leave you anything between a pitching wedge and a 7 iron.
Hole 7 - Par 4, 435 Yards, S.I. 1
The most challenging hole on the golf course, at stroke index one, out of bounds left, your tee has to be in the fairway to leave yourself a chance of hitting the green with your approaching shot. Any second shot right of the green leaves you a tricky up and down for your par.
Hole 8 - Par 4, 372 Yards, S.I. 8
Hole eight, play it as you see it. A straight hole with an oak tree in the right hand side of the fairway, leads your drive towards the hedge line. A straight drive leaves you with a good chance of making a birdie.
Hole 9 - Par 4, 303 Yards, S.I. 15
Half way there, the ninth hole is another risk and reward hole. With bunkers layering the fairway it leaves you with no room to bale out. The precision tee shot is a mid iron up the fairway to take the bunkers out of play.
