The tournament is now in its 84th year and both governing bodies have decided the time is right to freshen up the golfing spectacle, especially with the ever increasing global media coverage of the event and the game of golf on a whole.
The new unified visual image is set to extend the tournaments popularity for years to come and officials are hopeful the new design will become as synonymous as The Masters logo which can be found not only in both Europe and America, but indeed, in every continent throughout the world. Time will tell if can match the yellow-filled outline of the United States with a flag protruding from somewhere close to Augusta, Georgia in the South Eastern quarter.
