GOOD EVANS.....IT'S A NEW COURSE RECORD!

Michael Evans has smashed the course record at Clays- and that was with three bogeys on his card.

Michael who is 18 on July 22nd shot a scintillating 61 beating the previous course record by a single shot, with nine birdie and an eagle making it a day to remember.

General Manager Steve Williams was delighted such a feat could be achieved by a product of the Junior Academy at Clays. "What a round! A 61 that included 3 bogeys. Michael's been through the junior ranks in Clays and he's a good golfers who is in the club's Scratch Team and has been called up to play for Wales. I know he wants to try make it professional although he's doing an apprenticeship at the moment" explains Williams.

Evans, has just had another great week with his young golfing career, finished 10th in The Tucker Trophy in South Wales before going on to finish 2nd in the South Wales Boys. "I didn't think I was going to break the record when I bogeyed the 1st. But I played well and I just hope to keep on playing wellbecause I'd love to make it as a professional" were the rising star's sentiments following his fantastic performance.

Congratulations to 'Mikey' on all his recent success, we wish him all the best in the future and know he's capable of great things!
